Driveway Questions

Q: How long does a new driveway take to install? A: Most driveway installations take 2–5 days, depending on size and material. Block paving and tarmac driveways are generally quicker than natural stone or resin-bound surfaces. We'll give you an accurate timeframe as part of your free quote.

Q: Do I need planning permission for a new driveway? A: In most cases, no. Provided the surface is permeable (allows water to drain naturally) or the water is directed to a lawn or border rather than the road. Non-permeable surfaces over 5 square metres may require planning permission. We can advise on this during your free site visit.

Q: What's the difference between block paving and tarmac? A: Block paving is more durable, easier to repair in sections, and offers more design flexibility. Tarmac is generally more cost-effective and quicker to install. Both are suited to North Wales weather when installed properly. See our Block Paving Information and Tarmac & Asphalt Information pages for a full comparison.

Q: How long will my driveway last? A: A properly installed and maintained block paving driveway can last 20 years or more. Tarmac and asphalt driveways typically last many years with occasional resealing. Every job comes with our 10-year workmanship guarantee regardless of material.

Q: Do you remove and dispose of my old driveway? A: Yes. Removal and disposal of your existing surface is included as standard as part of our site preparation and groundworks.

Patio Questions

Q: What's the best patio material for a North Wales garden? A: It depends on your priorities. Porcelain is low-maintenance and weather-resistant; natural stone offers a unique, premium look; concrete pavers are the most budget-friendly. See our Patio Paving Information page for a full breakdown of each.

Q: Do patios need proper drainage? A: Yes. Without it, water can pool and cause staining, moss growth, or damage over time. We assess drainage and levels as standard on every patio project before installation begins.

Q: Can you build a patio on a sloped garden? A: Yes. Sloped and uneven sites are common across North Wales. We handle the groundworks and levelling needed to build a stable, well-drained patio on sloped ground.

Q: How long does a patio installation take? A: Most patios take 3–6 days depending on size and material, including groundworks and finishing details like pointing and edging.

Q: Can you add features like fire pits or seating to a patio? A: Yes. We install pergolas, fire pits, built-in seating, and lighting as part of a patio project or as an addition to an existing patio.

Fencing Questions

Q: What fencing styles do you offer? A: We offer a wide range including panel fencing, featherboard, and closeboard, in various heights and styles for privacy, security, or decorative purposes.

Q: Can you repair storm-damaged fencing rather than replace it fully? A: Yes. We offer partial restoration and repair where possible, not just full replacement, which can save you cost if only some panels or posts are damaged.

Q: How long does fencing last? A: This depends on material and exposure — coastal, wind-exposed sites see more wear than sheltered gardens. We recommend materials and fixings suited to your specific site, and all work is guaranteed.

Q: Do you install gates as well as fencing? A: Yes. We supply and install gates to match your fencing.

General Questions

Q: What areas do you cover? A: We're based in Llandudno and cover a 30-mile radius across North Wales. See our full list of areas we cover.

Q: Is the quote free and no-obligation? A: Yes. We provide a free, no-obligation quote following an on-site consultation, with no pressure to proceed.

Q: What does the 10-year guarantee cover? A: Our workmanship guarantee covers the quality of installation for 10 years from completion, giving you peace of mind on every job, large or small.

Q: Do you accept card payments? A: Yes. We accept credit and debit card payment.
